WMO Registration and Irrigation Management System
This WMO (water management organization) registration and irrigation management system is an innovative initiative of the BWDB to ensure intensive monitoring and prompt delivery of services. Through this system, water management organization registration activities can be completed in the fastest time. Farmers census, formation of ad hoc committee, application for general membership, formation of general committee, formation of election committee, election related activities such as election schedule announcement, application, symbol allotment, result announcement, water management organization registration. In addition, irrigation management can get canal or pump based water targets, demand and supply reports. Arrangements will be made to provide canal based irrigation schedule. In addition, as all the information is stored, there is an opportunity to evaluate the work.
Flood Forecasting and Warning System
FFWC generates and provides flood forecast and warning information to enhance the disaster management capacity of national agencies and communities using the best scientific principles, real time data, weather forecast information and mathematical models. There is a software and database in place as well as a mobile application to store, process and display these information. Currently this system can provide warning in 10 days advance.
Online Payment Processing
Payment is required for multiple services provided by BWDB. So the institution has developed a online payment processing system to incorporate the service-takers with modern facilities and security.
Online Recruitment Management System
Online job application and selection, distribution of admit cards, examination and result processing, result submission and related management is done using this software. This is a “one entry, multiple use” software which provides applicants with cv-bank like facility with dynamic edit options.
Scheme Information and Management System
SiMS-Smart (Scheme Information Management System) has been developed for managing and maintaining the BWDB Schemes and projects of Bangladesh Water Development Board (BWDB) spread out all over the country. The SiMS-Smart is able to visualize the Scheme information, O&M activities, Create Budget, Allocation tables, Work Packages, Procurement Plan and online Monitoring of the works under different contracts. Furthermore, it has the modules to evaluate the performance of the schemes considering Agriculture, Socio-economic, Water Resources etc. SiMS-Smart has facilities to generate reports and store document information in organized database. SiMS-Smart is integrated with Mobile Application to collect data from fields.
Management Information System
Management Information System is a central MIS to manage employee transfer, promotion, office information related activities.
Online Attendance Management System
All employee attendance is managed through this software. Biometric attendance system is integrated and report is automatically generated within this software. Office heads can monitor entrance and departure time of employees of the concerned office.
Constituency-wise BWDB Activities
It consists of a web-based software and a mobile application which provide information on all development projects of BWDB in 350 parliamentary seats in Bangladesh, urgent work, liaison information of concerned offices with MPs and all DOs. and play a role in ensuring the free flow of information through the preservation of Q&A issues discussed in Parliament.
Web-portal & Digital Archive
It consists of a web based dynamic software and a digital archive. Web-based portal functions as a connection between public and BWDB. The digital archive is where all the notices, circulars, orders and other important documents are stored for future use.
Soft-switch communication system
BWDB has integrated a soft-switch system for faster and secure communication purpose. A software-based solution running on industry-standard hardware is implemented which offers inherent economic advantages over legacy monolithic telephony equipment based on proprietary hardware.
Hydrological Data Collection system
To analyze the hydrological, hydrogeological, morphological and hydro-meteorological data collected by field offices quality control and processing and manage real time data collection for flood forecasting purpose and timely dissemination of flood warning to different Ministries/ Organizations/ News media and NGO’s, BWDB has a hydrological data collection system in place for better data processing, configuration and visualization through sensing and collection of hydrological data in real time.
Tier-3 Data Centre
BWDB has a Tier-3 data centre located at its headquarter which is equipped with modern technology and power system ensuring 99.99% guaranteed availability. It has redundant and dual-powered servers, storage, network links etc where IT components are powered with multiple, active and independent sources of power and cooling resources.
Human Resource Management System
BWDB has a human resource management system to store and manage all employee related information such as personal information, joining, transfer and promotion related information, training and leave related information etc.
Online Monitoring and Inspection System
With a view to banishing corruption and ensuring 100% timely completion as well as no compromising in quality, BWDB has opted for a real time IP camera based monitoring and inspection system. It is continuously monitoring ongoing works through usage of modern technology even where physical presence is quite cumbersome.
Accounting & Financial Management System
Accounts related works and financial documents are of utmost importance and so, BWDB has managed to build an accounting and financial management system to ensure easy storage and finding and eradicate human errors from the related processes.
GIS based Land Information System
BWDB has lands all over the country. To monitor and use all these locations is a heavy-work process. To reduce time and errors, the institution has a GIS and database based data storage and management system in place for management of land-pieces within its area.
